Sister Mintaka is very excited to present this beautiful Berry Red Double Face Wool And Cashmere Felt Coating fabric.

This deadstock fabric has been sourced directly from LVMH. It is a huge honour to be permitted to sell these fabrics to home sewists, so that you too can sew and wear garments made from fabrics sourced from some of France’s finest couture houses.

Double Face Wool and Cashmere Felt is made with two layers of fabric. You can carefully separate the layers apart within the seam allowance, and then stitch your seams in a way that encloses all the raw edges. What you’ll be left with is a garment that looks beautiful inside and out.
With this double faced fabric you don’t have to use a lining. Look for coat patterns that don’t come with linings, or consider hacking a coat pattern by removing the lining. Of course you can add a lining if you want to.

This is fabric is beautifully soft with a low pile. The fabric does have nap, so you will need to cut your pattern pieces all in the same direction.

This fabric is 95% Wool 5% Cashmere.

The closest Gutermann thread match shade is 175.

Made in Italy.

Wool is naturally self cleaning, so you shouldn’t need to wash this fabric often. If you do wish to wash your coating fabric, you can hand wash it with cold water using a detergent that is suitable for wool fabrics. Washing may effect the appearance of the fabric, so you may wish to dry clean this instead. You may wish to occasionally steam clean your coat to remove wrinkles and odours, and you can also brush the coating too. Ironing the fabric is not recommended as this can flatten the pile.

Our fabrics are sold by the half meter. If you wish to order 1.5 meters please add the quantity 3 to your basket.

Please note that because fabric is cut to order, it may not be returned or exchanged.

We do our best to get accurate images of all of our fabrics, but due to varying monitor screens, colours may differ slightly to the original fabric.
