Sister Mintaka is very excited to present the Navy Culinten Slub, made with Cupro, Linen and TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers.
This fabric feels wonderfully weighty, opaque and has a beautiful drape. It almost has a little bit of bounce to it when you move it and gather it up in your hands. On one side the fabric feels soft and has a light lustre thanks to the addition of cupro. On the other side the fabric appears matt and the slub texture is more pronounced. You can use either side as the ‘right side’.
For a ‘dressed up’ style I’d pick the softer side as the right side and make a Trench Coat, or for a more ‘workwear’ style look I’d choose the matt side and make something like the Ilford Jacket. I’d also be tempted to make the Blanca Flight Suit.
You could make trench coats, jackets, trousers and jumpsuits with this fabrics. You could also make skirts, tops and dresses.
(Just so you know, I made up the word Culinten because saying cupro, linen, TENCEL™ Lyocell slub is a bit of a mouthful. Culinten is the perfect blend of all three words cu-pro, lin-en and ten-cel.)
This fabric is 35% Cupro, 35% Linen and 30% TENCEL™ Lyocell.
For care instructions it is recommend that this fabric is machine washed cold on a gentle cycle, hang to dry and iron on low. Do not tumble dry or bleach.
