Sister Mintaka presents the Estuary Skirt sewing pattern by Sew Liberated.
The Estuary is an easy-to-sew, elastic-backed wasit, a-line skirt with patch pockets (View A) or in-seam pockets (View B). It can be sewn with a fill button placket or a faux-front placket, simply sewing the buttons through all layers, omitting the button holes.
If your chosen fabric is directional, has a nap or a design for matching, extra fabric may be required.
Materials and Supplies
The Estuary Skirt is designed for woven fabrics. Look for mid-weight linens and linen blends, soft cottons, silk noil, rayon challis, cotton ikat, and light to mid-weight chambray or denim. Note that if you want to extend the skirt length beyond the provided midi length (25.25″ / 64cm), you will need to purchase extra fabric. When adding length to the skirt, for each inch of added length, add 5 inches (13 cm) of length to your fabric usage requirement.
