Sister Mintaka presents the Olive Waxer Canvas by Robert Kaufman.
Waxer Canvas is a dyed cotton canvas coated in beeswax. The wax cracks, scratches, wrinkles and creases over time, adding character as it ages and patinas.
What is so unique about waxed canvas?
Wax is mixed in with the woven fibers to create a waterproof barrier ideal for jackets and bags. The wax repels water, as it beads up to sit on the fabric’s surface.
Waxed canvas cleaning tips:
Shake or brush off dirt, sand or any other abrasive material. For small spots, use cold water and mild soap, and a sponge or brush. With a little soap, gently massage the spotted surface. Rinse with a sponge and cold water. Let the product air dry.
Fabric wax coating can be renewed and reapplied using commercially available products like Otterwax.
Our fabrics are sold by the half meter. If you wish to order 1.5 meters please add the quantity 3 to your basket.
Please note that because fabric is cut to order, it may not be returned or exchanged.
We do our best to get accurate images of all of our fabrics, but due to varying monitor screens, colours may differ slightly to the original fabric.
