Kylie and the Machine have created wonderful Jeans Hardwear kits which are designed to help you gather some of the key notions that you’d need to make a beautiful pair of jeans. These Jeans Hardwear kits have enough notions for two pairs of jeans.
“The process of our jeans hardware kits.
From my brain to your sewing desk… this all comes from my longing to make and wear clothes that look like the expensive brands. The problem with sewing garments at home is our access to high quality sewing supplies. I started thinking about my favourite pair of RTW jeans, they are from Nobody Denim and they are ethically made here in Australia. The zipper never started unzipping even though they were basically skin tight. I saw that it had a special locking mechanism, when the pull is down it’s locked in place – genius. So I found the EXACT zipper they used and I’ve included them in our kits. We also added the top stops so you can shorten the zipper to your measurements.
Next it was the hardware: buttons and rivets. I wanted them to look modern with quality metal finishes. My husband’s favourite RTW jeans brand Scotch and Soda, have really nice hardware. So I searched and found their hardware supplier, and worked with them to create our custom hardware.
Then we had the tools made to fit like a glove with our buttons and rivets, so that you can confidently hammer those suckers in!!” – Kylie and The Machine.
What’s included in the kit?
